Not as good as I had hoped! I have a very cheap tamron zoom with no autofocus so, very long zooms in low light are never its/my strong point, But... its always good practice to manual focus and keep a steady hand so I will keep up the practice.

Mr Moth

Steve has been absolutly brilliant at helping me sort my garden (thank you) and while we were moving slabs we came across this fella still a little stunned from being woken up...

Steves lamp, done once again late at night.... btw it needs dusting

in reflection

another macro play. I had the idea of using a mirror for macro a while back and for something super shiny like these balls it really works I think.

and its day 90!!! nearly a quarter of the way through. :)

day 89... still going

another cheep shot late in the evening..... this is a bad habbit I have to change
Jennyxx

'young and free'

Ok, a quick idea as the original plan for the day didn't come to fruition, (Jen chickened out of getting wet, which was her idea anyhow)

so handheld 6sec exposure, took through so many ND filters to block the sun out i couldn't see to focus or compose and the pics had a horrid red cast on them, BUT... I love this shot, i love the stillness and emptiness of the image and the balloons playing on the breeze. i also love the softness because of the long exposure and the not quite sharpness of it all

i dont do people shots well so this was a real ego boost!

Temby

Had an absolutly georgous day so we headed up to Tenby in the afternoon after looking at the scene for the balloon shot that we are gonna do tomorrow. lovely day, ice cream and camera .. cant go wrong with that.
Jennyxx

a little bit of water creeping in!

dont be fooled it may be 20'c but that water is bitterly cold still!

anyhow, looking at location for a shot that we didn't do! so this tester shot become worthless, but fun nevertheless,

handheld 1/2 sec exposure on the old 10-20mm

Tried shot

Tired day 87 but i did try and play with diffrent coloured light

day three of the cheap shots!

I'm sorry but this is the third cheap shot in a row, the reason?

well I've been working on 5 pics for my 5 projected images entry, it was a quick idea that has taken three days of painting and editing, i will share later promise!!!

anyhow, something flavour full to put o my sausages tmrw! hehehe.

my little friend

Been looking for this species of spider for a while even tho it is common it is very small so you dont notice it.. this fella was about 3-4mm big, he is a Zebra spider ( Salticus scenicus ) and is a jumping spider. The first pic (not that great) was my first attempt at hand held focus stacked. I was only able to get three photos of him stood still. Pretty pleased just for that reason.

The lower pic is the best of the lot. I look forward to seeing more jumping spiders

Jenny, doing what she does while i do what i do!

its fair to say me and Jen see the world in different proportions, i like my wide angles and clear spaces of colour, Jen sees things somewhat closer to home, so this is her getting hers!

hide and seek

Well today has been a very suprising day with the sunshine and 20 degrees out side (even tho at one point last week it was only 5), so a nice womble out with the pentax the steve has been talking me into useing again. In this sunshine it is macro heaven, so heres a little ant waiting to come out of his home... and me waiting to catch him, getting a crocked neck lol
This weekend has been a lovely unwinding time and hopefully the first of many days of sun.

holiday village fun!

Todays little play... looked like it was gonna be spoilt when the land owner asked us to move on and refused permission, but after a little bit of smooth talking he granted us permission to play for half hour! and what a great play, can’t wait to get the proper shots edited, but this little one was me and Jen at opposites ends of the same shot! gonna be interesting how we both interpret the same shot..

so love the texture and colours, the shapes and angles, what a magical play.

the rest of the day was supposed to be spent on the beaches catching the incoming tide over the reef, but got lost after this play!!!

something small!

another gritty macro play! didn't have any ideas tonight, went to the cupboard to change the bin liner and there they were looking at me lost!

opps

left my day go when i could of been out in the garden ... what a fool.. so this shot is with the lens i have borrowed of steve and is taken when the light is going.
But it is day 82 and i still feel im going strong even when i have days like these.

subway art

the subway growls under the orange fire of the town lit sky! from the chaos of pattern and symmetry jumps something bold and smooth, wet and ferocius to catch your breath and steal it as you venture down, hopping

something of a odd shot, the patterns and cloud playing of against each other smooth and yet shape!

hand held at 6 sec so not as sharp as it could be a venture back me fears!

steve

summer time air

on the way to club i had the first taste of summer. The sun was warm and the light had a beautiful glow about it. Closed my eyes and smelled the air, definatly summer on the way and macro to be had :).

P.S thanx Steve for the reversing ring

beauty in simplicity

Saw an image on flickr (nothing new there) and saw a beautiful simple image of a door, re-thought what I could do with in a house when stuck for 365.
Some times there is beauty in simpicity.

Very exaused boy and mam

My little one has managed to pick up chicken pox, cheap shot from a tired jenny who hasnt slept since he got home (slightly delarious with lack of sleep).

time to get painting again

its time these fellas got some use again!

I think I need to prime the canvas and work some paint around it in a bid to get started and save the eyes and wrist from the pearls of photoshop!!!

a snap tonight but a lucky find when I was getting frustrated and about to quit with a inferior image. so it I'm quite pleased and it shows that the 366 keeps those eyes open to seeing ideas.

puddles!

tonights little play...

another sunset, I know sorry..

look I love my evening walks and I got to get a shot so here it is, a puddle!

Saturday 17 March 2012

First sunset of the year for me

Well after watching Wales win the Six Nations there wasn't mush point watching the England game :). So a walk to catch the sunset seemed so much better, and Steve let me take a snap with his new 10mm lens (his other woman). All I can say is after the Tamron, I want one.

Quite pleased with this shot, after another club visit on wednesday made me think about black and white and why I haven't played with it in so long.

Looking forward to more black and white (even tho it suits specific shots, not all).
Jennyxx

not happy, but lovely night!

I'm not very happy with myself tonight. I wanted this shot for days, so with the sky firing up off we womble to see what we could see!

so why am I not happy..

Idea...well my plan was to get on to the jetty and get the rotten wood slats sprawled out in front of me! using the 10mm this would give a great perspective shot!

reality...I couldn't get on the jetty and instead of looking for another shot that I could get, I kept firing away sticking with the 10mm and missing the potential, so what I have is a jetty thats lost in the middle of the picture with no real composition.

well I have learnt a lesson or at least learnt to recognise where I go wrong, need to go back and take time to look around! instead of snap snap snap!!!

old toys, new toys!

A last minute shot of the few remains of my old music studio set up, taken with my new lens, so something old something new!

this beasty has less power than my iPod but still rocks, i was in awe reading about this when it was released and then a couple years ago I picked one up for pocket money!

anyhow, hope you like the aged effect on the edit!

mr robot

Enjoyed to night in club but ran out of time for my 365, then Steve brought his sweets back. Hehehehe
Jennyxx

just a quick hello!

i just wanted to say a quick hello and thanks to all those out there following this blog and our 366 project, everyday can become quite a task to take a pic and knowing that people are enjoying the shots makes it worthwhile! i am surprised at how often people say ' oh i liked that photo' and its great to have the feedback! so many thanks blog watchers!

S and J

'welcome to the dark side' the Darth Vader of lollies

a bit of heavy playing with a overly bright and boring original photo!

Tuesday 13 March 2012

hehehe happy macro to come

Well this year I'm gonna make my garden Joe's and mine to have little bug hunts (and of course camera plays). my garden is on the edge of feilds and has alot of wildlife passing through. So making it more habitable for both man and animals.
I couldn't of done this with out the help of Steve and my dad (hopefully bro too) and I am really looking forward to the summer when everything is growing and the bugs, birds and foxes come out to play :) .
Jenny xx

Harry!!!!

A quick peek of my pet apple snail! yes i actually  keep snails (in my aquarium)  just the one apple snail in my little tank and handful of assassin snails in my larger tank, (yes they really are assassins!!!) this little fella is a lazy dude, he sleeps for days on end before charging round munching the algae on the glass. he is elegant to watch though and makes for a great addition to the tank! after moving the tank to the lounge and replacing the substrate i now find watching a film a little difficult as I’m side tracked…

National 'I don't share my mini eggs day'

Just so there isn't any confusion, there mine and they will stay that way till I've finished them, I don't share mini eggs! :) I think its rude to raise expectation that i might share another!

anyhow a macro play with a small LED light and Pentax 35-70mm lens reverse mounted at f16, 1/8th second ISO800, handheld. makes a change from the wide angle this week!

Steve

For sunday

Got this for my mother (good thing she doesn't follow the blog). It is a first that I remember mothers day and am prepared for it ... Hey getting good at this remembering lark.

Burry Port (again)

Burry Port, sorry did I say I wouldn't flood the site with pictures of burry port at sunset. i'd apologise but look at it, its beautiful and worth going there every night to catch some of the last rays and fresh air before she sleeps another tide! anyhow tonight I took a wobble and this is what I saw! happy chap, I don't know that my photography is really going anywhere at the moment but I happily would churn these out every night if thats all I have in me!

little wonder

Went for a walk down Burry Port harbour just to get some fresh air in the lungs. Not a fantastic shot but one all the same.
 Jennyxx

I disagree although the sun is burnt out, I like the detail in the boats. I love the feel and colours in this one! funny how we saw the same shot so differently (steve)

heres my interpretation!

last minute shop

Well quick snap on steves phone. was very odd to see this in the middle of tesco, not cos its there just because someone put in the effort into setting all these books up to look like a living room. honestly, does anyone shopping really care.

a lotta pot's

a whole lotta pots! edited and tweaked in Topaz to try and bring it to life a little, i do love the scale in this and the tone! of course, what it does mean is its garden centre madness and digging to be down too!

important ingrediant

Well been feeling a little ill so haven't done much food shopping, to my dispointment i've ran out of milk. Tea = Milk. very disapointed (such a fool not to shop).
Jennyxx

now what was i here for!!!!

In case you have been living under a rock or have just joined us on this merry journey, you might have heard me mention (and be bored of hearing it) that I got a new sigma 10-20mm lens! Well this is what it does best, oddles of character, perspective thats stretched for ever and awesome colours and sharpness, it really is a great lens. I had three pics for tonight all lovely (in my humble opinion), but this one won, why... cos I'm not going to ask if I can crawl around a car wash in the dark every night for your or my entertainment! My life may be bland but theres better kicks to be had!
This pic of course has been edited using only the finest and easily abused software programs the dearest Topaz, loved and hated By many in equal proportion its just so easy to go, "oh wow look at that" and walk away. I hope I'm not doing that, I have used two effects on this and layered them and painted the effects in  and out respectively to try and bring the grit and darkness to this photo that I saw among the shiny billboards and logos. I hope its worked and I hope you'll tell me either way by leaving a comment or looking at the flickr account and leaving a comment there? This editing is a very new game to me and getting it right makes a picture wrong and it trashes it! time will tell what I'm doing I'm sure

thanks poppels!

steve!

(of course the car still needs washing doesn't it! I knew I forgot something!)

Wednesday 7 March 2012

looking down the short end of a fish tank!

ok, it aint very good or clever, but I'm tired and am not gonna fight it tonight, so 'looking down  the short end of a fish tank' is what you got!! tmrw it will be better I will have more time and more oomph I promise.

the problem with this 366 task is that theres no day off! never, not for another 299 days anyhow! and frankly some days you just wanna take a pic and get on with crashing on the sofa... I would have loved this pic to have worked and with some more time and commitment it would I'm sure so perhaps a revisit.

so what was i saying about no excuse! well none made, sorry tomorrow will be better!

BTW no silverware for me tonight in the comp either! :( I hope it wasn't beginners luck, I think I need to step it up abit
